Dr. Behnam Abbasian is the President and CTO of BioFerScience, a veterinarian and microbiologist with over 12 years of R&D experience in the field of animal health. He is an internationally trained veterinarian who also received a master’s degree in microbiology from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University, Canada.
Dr. Abbasian developed a novel method for bacterial encapsulation that can protect bacterial cells from harsh environmental conditions on farms. He believes that to get the most out of probiotics, they must be designed specifically for animals and compatible with their physiology. In this regard, he achieved his goal by co-fermenting multiple species-specific strains of bacteria that are compatible with the rumen and intestine of ruminants and monogastric animals.
Dr. Abbasian has published several research articles in the field of veterinary and microbiology and has also published a patent in the United States of America in the field of probiotics.
