Dr. Behnam Abbasian is the Founder, President, and Chief Technology Officer of BioFerScience. A veterinarian and microbiologist, he brings over 12 years of experience in research and development within the animal health sector.
Dr. Abbasian received his veterinary training internationally and earned a Master of Science in Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University in Canada.
He is widely recognized for his pioneering work in developing a novel bacterial microencapsulation method—an innovation designed to protect probiotic bacterial cells from harsh environmental conditions commonly encountered on farms. Guided by the belief that probiotics must be tailored to the specific physiological needs of animals, he has led efforts to co-ferment species-specific bacterial strains that align with the digestive systems of both ruminants and monogastric animals.
Dr. Abbasian has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles in veterinary medicine and microbiology and is the inventor of a U.S. patent in the field of probiotics, reflecting his dedication to advancing the science and efficacy of animal health solutions.
